Design Blu Dot, 2015
Powder-coated steel base & shade, solid walnut switch
Made by Blu Dot

A solid wood switch cleverly caps this steel beauty. Punk table lamp is tough and elegant, this little punk gives good light and takes two 13 watt CFLbulbs.

Punk started with a single part. Blu Dot had a sample of a stamped metal shade from a supplier and were told they could do any shape they wanted, but would have to pay a hefty tooling fee. They decided to keep the costs down and work around the stock part. Keeping with the idea of stock parts and simplicity, they made the base out of a stock tube shape. And the only flourish was a little wood and warmth where your hand touches the lamp - on the switch.

13" h | shade: 12" dia. | 3" h | base: 3" dia. | 9" h | 72" cloth-covered cord
includes 2x13W CFL bulbs | A-19 LED bulbs recommended | some assembly required

$350.00 + plus shipping (curbside delivery in the continental US)

Blu Dot was formed in 1997 when John Christakos, Maurice Blanks, and Charlie Lazor commiserated about the lack of high-quality, affordable home furnishings that also appealed to their modernist aesthetics. They began as college friends trying to fill a void in the marketplace and have endured with highly-original furniture and products that join whimsy with practicality. The company thrives on collaboration and prides itself on having full control, taking care of each step in-house, from design, to manufacturing, to retail. Blu Dot is based in Minneapolis, and has flagship stores in LA and SoHo New York that display over 100 items from the collection.

Looks Good but Can't Read To 'Em
Lena, more than a month ago.
These look great but they take up a lot of room for a lamp that doesn't provide enough light to read a book. If you just need a night light, they will work for you. I could set my alarm clock to them or find my glasses or even check my phone for messages, just can't read books, which is the only reason for having a table lamp in my opinion. If you don't care about light or read from a Kindle, you might like these.
