manhattan coffee table
Design Roderick Vos, 2012
Birch plywood, solid oak
Made in Italy by Linteloo
There are no design-rules to a beautiful composition of shapes. As seen in the Manhattan coffee table, it is consciously trying to compose an asymmetrical shape. The mutual distances between this visually floating 'blocks', and the proportions of the different plateaus, makes this low oak "coffee" and "books" table so unique.
Manhattan coffee table features a birch plywood frame with 5mm solid oak. The table is structured and offered with a smoked finish treated with linseed oil.

Linteloo started a brand that radiates "enjoying the good life" in every possible way. Raised by parents who owned a furniture store in The Netherlands, he had noticed the domination of minimalism in the early nineties. British and Italian design gurus were promoting an anonimous, almost sterile interior style in which practically anything personal should be hidden in cupboards, and anything "comfortable" was expelled to the bedroom.
