The bell represents a very early and essential form of communication, generating a welcoming ring that brings people together for festivities and congregations. It has always been a fundamental icon for Marcel Wanders, who, after using its soft shapes for his Personal Editions, now extends it to the Moooi collection by introducing the Bell pendant and floor lamp. Although these two lamps differ in terms of format, materials and finishing, their bell-shaped shades are both decorated with a festive ceramic bow.
Marcel Wanders grew up in Boxtel, the Netherlands and graduated cum laude from the School of the Arts Arnhem in 1988. His fame started with the iconic Knotted Chair in 1996. He is now designing for the biggest European contemporary design manufacturers including Moooi of which he is also art director and co-owner. He works on architectural, interior design and consumer home appliances. His designs have been selected for the most important design collections and exhibitions around the world.
The Bell suspension lamp is offered in two sizes and features a mouth-blown glass shade in five colors with a ceramic bow in your choice of gold plated or white glazed. The Bell lamps include a ceiling canopy matching the finish chosen for the ceramic bow.

Marcel Wanders
Marcel Wanders first drew international recognition for his Knotted Chair produced by the Dutch design brand Droog. The Knotted Chair has since been acquired by the permanent collection of the MoMA.
Moooi is named for the Dutch word "beautiful". The third 'O' in the name stands for extra value in beauty. Moooi has produced work from Bertjan Pot, Maarten Baas and Studio Job. Marcel Wanders is responsible for the overall design process.
