ole wanscher 2000 egyptian chair
Design Ole Wanscher, 1957
Solid wood, leather
Made in Denmark by Carl Hansen & Son
The Egyptian Folding chair is a true Danish Design Classic. Ole Wanscher drew his inspiration from Ancient Egypt and Thebes when designing this Folding stool. According to history, the Folding chair has long been recognized as a seat of dignity and power and the construction and finish are outstanding.
The Egyptian chair was first put into production in 1957 and taken out again in the 1970s. Danish cabinet makers PJ Furniture put it back in production in the year 2000. The chair has an elegant and decorative design and despite its lightness, it is very stable. The chair is easy to move around and to store. When folding the chair, the seat folds down into the frame of the chair.
The frame of the chair is made of solid wood. The seat comes in black, cognac or natural leather.
