suita club armchair
by Antonio Citterio, from Vitra.
suita club armchair
Design Antonio Citterio, 2010
Molded polyurethane, belted metal, die-cast aluminum, upholstery
Made in Germany by Vitra
Introducing Suita: an elegant, timeless sofa system from Vitra and Antonio Citterio that is at once lightweight and technical. The precise geometry and soft padding of the body seem to float above the sleek, aluminum legs echoing classic, mid-century American design. Featuring individual components that can be freely combined, Suita adapts to suit all kinds of design visions, individual styles and environments.
Suita sofa can take on either a formal or casual attitude depending on the cushions, which feature different combinations of foam and feather and are available in various degrees of softness. The slender seat shell allows for maximum seating area, whereas the sofa itself takes up as little space as possible.
The basic elements of the Suita Sofa system can be used as single elements, or they can be mixed and matched to suite all kinds of living spaces and furnishing needs. The elegant frames (offered in your choice of polished, black-coated or white-coated aluminum) together with the choice of fabric or leather covers offer individuality in terms of comfort and appearance.

Antonio Citterio
Italian designer Antonio Citterio (b. 1950) still lives and works in Milan since graduating in architecture from the Politcenico di Milano. He has made designs for many manufacturers, including : Ansorg, B&B Italia, Flexform, Flos, Hackman, Iittala, Hansgrohe, Inda, Pozzi e Ginori, Kartell, Arclinea and Vitra. He operates his entirely own brand known for skilled craftsmanship in wood processing, Maxalto, under B&B Italia. The first Maxalto store opened in Paris, followed by Chicago and Miami. The company received new attention after appearing in the James Bond film Quantum of Solace. Citterio’s other work includes construction in Italy and abroad, as well as leading conferences and lectures.
Vitra is a Swiss company dedicated to improving the quality of spaces through the power of design. Product longevity is central to the company goal of sustainable development. Short lived styling is avoided in favor of classical pieces of furniture that can be used for decades, have several owners and end up as part of a collection.
