nap stackable armchair
from Fritz Hansen
nap stackable armchair
Design Kasper Salto, 2010
Steel, nylon shell
Made by Fritz Hansen
The NAP chair is a reflection of Kasper Salto's approach to design. "For me design is about relevance. To always create a product that has relevance towards its user's." Say's Salto. NAP is a series of light stacking chairs designed for optimum sitting comfort regardless of the sitting position. NAP is an abbreviation of Normal, Active and Passive - because sitting is in actual fact constant movement.
With its curvaceous form, the NAP chair is feminine and elegant. The contours of the Nylon shell adapt naturally to the shape of the human body and the textured waves turn hours of sitting into an attractive proposition. "If people who sit in the chair notice they have been sitting comfortably, I think I've succeeded." Say's Salto.
Nap stacks 8-10 high, is available in two varieties, with or without arms. The back of the recyclable shell has a high-gloss surface, and the front is matt and ribbed to emphasize the geometry of the chair. The Nap shell comes in a selection of colors and the steel base can be powder coated to match or chromed steel.
24.4" w | 20" d | 30.3" h | seat: 17.7" h
