"I spontaneously became involved in the designing of a companion set, when Johannes Wagner enquired in 1997, whether this would be something I would be interested in doing. It undoubtedly was, as I had not been able to find anything approaching what I had in mind for my own private fireplace until then. Therefore, until that point, I made do with a simple, cast iron poker. What I lacked most of all, were well-functioning wood tongs, that could grab and this then also became the central starting point for the new design. In 2000, the series was expanded: Bellows were created from the necessity that such a thing was only available in a very antiquated form. Andirons were also created in various sizes, in order to better build a fire. This then completed the series - a functionally designed tool set for passionate pyromaniacs."
