Designed by Tobia Scarpa in 1963 and reissued in 2025, Seki-Han is testament to his mastery of design and woodworking expertise. The intricate construction draws on naval techniques to shape two wooden blades that now rotate around the light source, leaving a slender sliver of light visible at all times for a highly poetic effect. The re-edition also introduces an elegant suspension model, identical in design but with a slightly shorter body. In both versions, Seki-Han is a living presence where the immateriality of light meets the tactility of wood.

Reimagined by Flos in close collaboration with Tobia Scarpa, the 2025 edition is subtly transformed, meeting contemporary demands for performance and versatility while preserving the design's essence. The wooden blades, now mobile, rotate around the central body and allow modulation of both light intensity and direction, offering complete control. The new Seki-Han stays true to the spirit of the original while adding a light, linear suspension version. Each piece is unique, embodying a dialogue between material and process, past and present, technique and design that underpins the Flos philosophy.
