Hand blown & formed glass, brass
Made in Vancouver BC by Bocci
118t is a single hand-blown glass pendant used with the table light hardware, which includes an integral dimming system housed within a sleek cylinder. The black fabric cord is semi-rigid and may be sculpted to add form.
Glass has a memory, it holds onto shapes it was exposed to while still molten. 118's dozens of tiny feather-like forms, in either opal or colored glass, arise from this uncanny ability. When lit from within, the interior complexities of 118 come into even sharper detail.
The 118 series explores the inherent ability of glass to retain shapes from its molten state. The delicate, feather-like forms within each glass sphere arise from this characteristic, capturing the transient impressions made during the blowing process. When illuminated from within, these subtle forms become more pronounced, revealing intricate details that evoke natural motifs such as a bird's wing or a blooming flower. This interplay of light and form highlights the series' sophisticated understanding of the material properties of glass and its capacity to preserve ephemeral shapes.
* 1W LED
* Dimmable using on cord rotary dimmer
* optional wall hung on hidden hook
shade: 5.1" - 5.75" diameter (each piece is hand-blown and unique, size will vary)
base: 3" diameter
cord: 81"
