"Stack is a stackable collection of contemporary outdoor furniture. It was inspired by the nautical world and has design elements that hark back to the 1960s and 1970s. An ode to enjoy outdoor life, natural light, and the colors of summer."
- Borja García
The Stack Side Table breathes the same spirit. It is an outdoor designer table, made with an extruded aluminum structure that is stackable and has its own personality, which lightly stands a few inches above the floor. This multi-purpose table with its own personality works by itself and adapts to any Contract or residential space.
Borja García was born in Valencia in 1980. He studied a Technical Engineering degree in Industrial Design in Cardenal Herrera-CEU University and collaborated with various local studios. He went to Milan in 2001 to finish his training in the Design Continuum Italia studio. In 2002, he founded the Nazca studio with Joaquín García and Esther Tornero, which undertook industrial design projects. In 2003 he decided to become independent and set up the Borja García Studio. Since that time, he has been undertaking industrial and communication design projects, has won several national awards and has participated in exhibitions in Tokyo, Milan, St-Etienne, Shanghai, Beijing, Sao Paulo, Fortaleza, Athens, Lisbon, Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia. Gandia Blasco began as a family business in 1941, manufacturing blankets before becoming known primarily for their outdoor furniture. Located outside Valencia and managed by Jos3 Gandia-Blasco (father of Jose Antonio, current company president), the company mainly employed people from neighboring towns and remained in the blanket business until the mid 1980's. International competition pushed them to modernize, and they did so by expanding into the carpet and textile markets. Their success with outdoor furniture came when Jose Antonio was furnishing his home and developed the "Na Xemena"? line with the house's architect, Ramon Esteve. This collection popularized the company and caused a change in approach and philosophy to combine comfort with functionality and aesthetic integrity.
