fåra woven rug
Design Ilse Crawford
100% New Zealand wool
Made in Sweden by Kasthall
Typical for one of Ilse Crawford's designs, this rug reflects human behavior. Fåra is a patterned rug that uses a bouclé yarn in pure wool with delicate irregularities, hand-woven in a striped pattern that exposes the underlying wool layers. The effect, reminiscent of a newly plowed field, is further enhanced by the contrasting colors.
As a founder of Studioilse, Ilse Crawford brings her philosophy to life. As a designer, academic and creative director, human needs and desires are at the center of her design philosophy. She creates environments where people feel comfortable, public spaces that make them feel at home, and homes that make sense for those who live in them. Together with Kasthall's design team, she designed the woven rugs Fåra, Glänta, and Ängsmark, as well as the tufted-rugs Täppa and Åker.
Sustainability is rooted in Kasthall's history from the beginning and continues today in their work and ambition to contribute to a sustainable future. They use a circular approach to design and a fully-traceable supply chain to reduce the impact on people and planet. It is part of their commitment to local Swedish production and a made-to-order system that creates less waste. Kasthall uses third-party environmental declarations and assessment to ensure reliability.
