"As warm and safe as a polar bear cub in the arms of its mother in the middle of the ice cap" - Flemming Lassen

Flemming Lassen designed the overstuffed easy chair, The Tired Man, for The Copenhagen Cabinetmakers' Guild Competition in 1935. It is characterized by organic, bearlike shapes and then as now it created a sensation with its curved form and voluminous armrests. The family man Flemming Lassen valued intimate relationships, with its warm exterior, The Tired Man invokes domestic coziness and socializing by candlelight. The front feet feature solid brass wheels that make moving the chair around the room easier. Optional ottoman is also available.

Credited for his role in bringing functionalism to Denmark, Flemming Lassen was an architect and designer noted for his exacting craftsmanship and naive expression. Lassen drew much of his inspiration from the architect Mies van der Rohe and the tenets of the Bauhaus artistic movement (a less is more approach focused on form, function and novel materials counterbalanced with human needs). His original and distinctive designs with timeless silhouettes still resonate today.
