skagerak georg stool
Design Chris Liljenberg Halstrøm, 2012
Solid FSC™-certified oak, wool, leather
Skagerak by Fritz Hansen
In a warm meeting between Nordic sensuality and Japanese minimalism, Georg Stool strikes a solitary pose. Georg's DNA is characterized by its slender wooden poles and rounded edges. Georg comes with a seat cushion in Kvadrat wool (leather strap) or a natural linen (braided linen strap).
With a Swedish mother and Danish father Chris Liljenberg Halstrøm shows her Nordic roots in her designs through a minimalistic approach and strong combinations of materials like wood, leather and wool. Function is her starting point and dictates the idiom of her beautiful designs. Chris is a curious and investigative woman. And it is in the investigation that she finds her biggest inspiration, an investigation of all possible angles of a design that draws her and broadens her perspective on the design process. Besides this, she is deeply fascinated by traditional Japanese architecture and design which focuses on the core function of the design.
The Georg Collection uses FSC™-certified oak. Oak is a sturdy and hardwearing antibacterial wood type. Its light, elegant color and well-defined grains makes oak a safe choice for high-quality interior. Skagerak oak comes from European forests and is selected carefully by hand to ensure the best and most durable quality in production. Oak is a natural material. It comes either painted black or untreated, which means that it will react to grease, colorants, changes in air humidity, moisture and water. Linen is a textile made from natural fibers from the flax plant, the color of the unbleached cushion may therefore vary in the shades.
