skagerak georg console table
Design Chris Liljenberg Halstrøm, 2012
Solid FSC™-certified oak
Skagerak by Fritz Hansen
A two-legged console table fitted against the wall taking up as little space as possible. Georg console desk is a functional piece suited for most rooms: As a welcoming station in the hallways where you can drop off keys and phones. As a make-up vanity in the bedroom or as a minimalist TV stand in the living room. Georg's DNA is a fusion of Nordic and Japanese inspiration with slender rounded wooden poles.
With a Swedish mother and Danish father Chris Liljenberg Halstrøm shows her Nordic roots in her designs through a minimalistic approach and strong combinations of materials like wood, leather and wool. Function is her starting point and dictates the idiom of her beautiful designs. Chris is a curious and investigative woman. And it is in the investigation that she finds her biggest inspiration, an investigation of all possible angles of a design that draws her and broadens her perspective on the design process. Besides this, she is deeply fascinated by traditional Japanese architecture and design which focuses on the core function of the design.
The Georg Collection uses FSC™-certified oak. Oak is a sturdy and hardwearing antibacterial wood type. Its light, elegant color and well-defined grains makes oak a safe choice for high-quality interior. Skagerak oak comes from European forests and is selected carefully by hand to ensure the best and most durable quality in production. Oak is a natural material. It comes either painted black or untreated, which means that it will react to grease, colorants, changes in air humidity, moisture and water.
