Shogun Table Lamp
from Artemide
shogun table lamp
Design Mario Botta, 1986
Painted Aluminum, perforated steel
Made in Italy by Artemide
Part of the Artemide masterpieces collection, Shogun is featured in the collections of museums like the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Originally released in 1986 during the height of the Post-Modern movement, Shogun has been updated to incorporate modern LED technology and is a stunning work of contemporary design.
With its bold black and white stripes, Shogun creates a strong graphic presence with its contrast. Its diffuser is crafted of perforated steel, which diffuses a soft light through the tiny holes creating an interesting pattern of light and shadow. Shogun's eye-catching design is also highly functional. It features an innovative steel shade can be adjusted to direct light where it is desired.
Mario Botta (b. 1943) is a Swiss architect known for his mastery of Brick Expressionism, use of geometric patterns, and was a major figure during the Post-Modern era of design.
* moveable diffusers allow light to be directed
* requires 1x max 150W E26/A19 bulb
* on/off switch on cord
12.6" diameter | 23.4" h

Artemide has aimed to assert lighting as a source of physical and mental comfort. Working with and searching through design, a declaration of Artemide values has emerged - The Human Light. The human light is intelligent lighting that knows how to relate to people and accompany them in their daily activities.
