Design Claesson Koivisto Rune, 2018
Metal base, foam, upholstery
Made in Holland by Artifort

'In the design, we have strived to achieve a soft, rather rounded, contemporary expression. It is proportioned to be both inviting and offers a high level of comfort', Marten Claesson, Eero Koivisto and Ola Rune explain. 'As well the sculptural qualities of the design, the main design feature is the way the legs rise up between the upholstered parts in a distinct fashion. This allows the possibility to play with fabrics in combination with the leg frame.'

Soft, rather rounded and inviting. The shape of the Andrea barstool is like a blooming flower, equally pleasing to view from any angle. The design barstool by Claesson Koivisto Rune stands out with its armrests and is very comfortable. Andrea barstool is available in two seat heights: as a counter stool and barstool.

Because of its soft geometry and versatility in available fabrics and leg colors, the chair blends in any interior. The chair works well with the Palladio table, as the sloping armrests allow it to be pushed under the table. Optionally, the upholstery can be specified in two colors of the same fabric group (please call to specify). One color for the seat and back and one color for the arms. The foundations of Artifort were laid by Jules Wagemans. In 1890, he set up business as an upholsterer in Maastricht. His son, Henricus Wagemans, expanded the company into a furniture factory, which had a showroom in Amsterdam by the end of the 1930's and was already well known nationally. The economic recession of the nineteen thirties forced H. Wagemans & Van Tuinen, as the furniture company was then known, to create a distinctive profile. The emphasis came to lie on functionality, comfort, and quality combined with aesthetically pleasing design and an innovative use of materials. The new brand name became Artifort, derived from the Latin word 'ars' meaning 'art or knowledge', and 'fortis' meaning "strong or powerful."
