utiltiy high back chair
Design Lucian Ercolani, 1957
Ash wood
Made in the UK by L. Ercolani
The perfect addition to any home, this Quaker dining chair complements both traditional and contemporary decor. An evolution of the Windsor design, this chair presents a tall u-shaped, six spindle back and sculpted oval seat for a supportive sit. The chair bow is steam bent from a single straight ash rail into this amazingly tight radius bend and then sanded and shaped to give its subtle and elegant profile.
Traditional wedge joints, where the legs come right through the seat and a wedge is then inserted into a cut, before the leg stump is hand sanded flush with the seat, both provide a lovely design detail and a very strong joint. Further strength is provided by the H-underframe.
This timeless dining room furniture is designed to complement any of the dining tables in the range and will be finished in your choice from a selection of ercol environmentally friendly water based stains.
19.25" w | 23.5" d | 40.5" h | seat: 17.75" h
