modular componibili components
Design Anna castelli Ferrieri, 1969
ABS plastic
Made in Italy by Kartell
The Componibili elements have been designed to meet various needs of use and live in any environment in the home or in the office: in the bathroom, bedroom, kitchen or lounge. The design solution that animates the Sectional system is the elementary and solid vertical overlapping of the single pieces, which, through a simple tongue and groove joint, compose practical mobile containers. Proposed in round and square shapes, the Componibili stand on small wheels or feet. This system has been in production for over 30 years and is in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Componibili can serve as a bedside table, bathroom storage, in offices, design studios or anywhere smart storage solutions are needed.
The pieces below are modular and are designed to stack to your desired height and configuration. Please select the components below to create your own custom componibili.
9.25" h . 16.5" dia. - 1 low round element | 4.25 lbs.
15.1" h . 16.5" dia. - 1 high round element | 5.95 lbs.
1.1" h . 16.5" dia. - 1 round tray top | 1.46 lbs.

A.C. Ferrieri
Anna Castelli Ferrieri has a place among a small group of postwar Italian designers whose influence is still felt today. She was known for working with plastic, a technological breakthrough of her time. In 1943 she became one of the first women to graduate from the Milan Polytechnic Institute, and opened her own studio in Milan in 1946. A few years later, she founded the Kartell company with her husband, Giulio Castelli. The Kartell building, which she designed with collaborator Ignazio Gardella became known as one of her best pieces of architecture, and served to signal the company’s aesthetic with its bold, red plastic blocks.
The Kartell image and history are best described through the company's products. The development, corporate strategies, attention paid to technology and design can be appreciated by observing the products Kartell has produced. Kartell products express the language and the atmosphere of the period in which they were created and at the same time they are "contemporary articles". They incorporate many values and messages and this is why they have become an integral part of our design world.
