Patricia Urquiola

Born in Oviedo, Patricia Urquiola attended the Faculty of Architecture of the Technical University of Madrid, where she graduated in 1989 having completed a thesis with Achille Castiglioni. From 1990 to 1992, she was assistant lecturer on his courses. Between 1990 and 1996, she worked with Vico Magistretti for the new product development office of De Padova and signed the products: “Flower,” “Loom sofa,” “Chaise,” and “Chaise Longue.”
Alessi was founded in 1921 by Giovanni Alessi to produce crafted metal products for eating and drinking. In 1935, Carlo Alessi, son of Giovanni, was named chief designer. In 1945, he ascended to chief executive and designed the coffee service Bombe, an industrial piece manufactured in four sizes. That same year Carlo's younger brother, Ettore Alessi, joined the company as a technician. By the 1980s, Alberto Alessi took over the management of Alessi and launched the Alessi company into the design decade through collaborations with designers such as Philippe Starck and his playful three-legged Juicy Salif citrus squeezer.

non stick is great ... details need improvement!
, less than two months ago.
I like the pan's shape and use it daily to scramble eggs. The non-stick coating holds up much better than US store bought brands.
I do have two complaints: the screws that attaches the handle are painted black and the paint peels of in a matter of days. Disgusting. But once the paint is off, you would never know it was there in the first place ... but you need to be really cognizant it doesn't get in your food until it is completely gone!!
I also bought the lid and washed the stainless steel lid in the dishwasher. The top knob of the lid matches the pan's handle ... however after running the lid through the dishwasher the top knob no longer matched the pan's handle. Both items need to be hand washed to keep the color matching.
