Mother of pearl discs, metal rings, metal frame
Made in Denmark by VerPan ApS.
Fifty years ago, Verner Panton shook up the world of lighting design with a major launch at the 1964 Cologne Furniture Fair. His lamp series "FUN" was like nothing anyone had ever seen before. Some loved it - some laughed at it - but no one was indifferent. Now, 50 years on, Panton's FUN has become one of his most iconic works.
Mother of Pearl (m.o.p.) sea, beach, sun, light, sound, sand. The infinite. Verner Panton would use the world around him for inspiration. Combine materials that would express a great experience in the small details. Fun (M.O.P.) is the best example of the greatness of detail. Of nature's own solution, combined with the creativity of designs and requirements for functionallity. The result is a lamp where you can feel and hear the world light. Fun was created to be seen and heard. It deserves much more than a corner and a remote spot in your room. Use it as a prominent and inspiring part of your interior design.
As one of the most influential and remarkable designers of the era, Verner Panton (1926-1998) has created objects, spaces and art. He was a master of the fluid, futuristic style of 1960s design which introduced the Pop aesthetic to furniture and interiors. His original, space age designs have won numerous awards and been exhibited in museums and private collections around the world. His ideologies and design concepts are apparent and have had great influence on 21st century design.
The FUN series is offered in a variety of sizes and configurations. The Fun 1WM wall lamp features mother of pearl discs on a three ring metal frame. Discs are connected with small metal rings. On/off switch on cord. Please call the hive showroom with any questions: 1-866-663-4483.
