mirror ball tripod floor lamp
Design Tom Dixon, 2008
Polycarbonate shade, vacuum metalized, stainless steel
Made by Tom Dixon
A highly reflective shade inspired by the space helmet. The Mirror Ball is created by exploding a thin layer of pure metal onto the internal surface of a polycarbonate globe. A robust steel stand to accompany the mirror balls. The Mirror Balls are tightly held in place with industrial strength clamps.
The Fat Spot Light was manufactured using a special vacuum metallization process which has been developed over a number of years by Tom Dixon in partnership with their factory. The technically complex nature of this process (i.e applying a very thin layer of real metal to the internal surface of a polycarbonate form, which is then UV coated) requires highly skilled workers, specific machinery and clean environments to meet demanding quality levels. Metalized polycarbonate products must only be stored & installed in temperature controlled environments to preserve the quality of the product. Please take greater care when handling and installing.
The Mirror ball on tripod stand includes:
3 x mirror ball 25 (MBB25A-FEUM)
2 x mirror ball 40 (MBB40A-FEUM)
2 x mirror ball 50 (MBB50A-FEUM)
1 x steel tripod stand (SC01GUL)
mirror ball 25: 9.8" dia. | requires 40W E12 white globe LED bulb | UL certified
mirror ball 40: 15.7" dia. | requires 60W E26 white globe LED bulb | UL certified
mirror ball 50: 19.7" dia. | requires 60W E26 white globe LED bulb | UL certified
tripod stand: 70.8" h | base: 31.5" dia.

Tom Dixon
Born in Tunisia, Tom Dixon moved to England in 1963. Since setting up his own design company in 2002, The Tom Dixon brand gave Tom a platform to produce iconic designs such as Mirror Ball, Copper Shade, Wingback chair and Beat light.
Established in 2002, Tom Dixon is a British design and manufacturing company of lighting and furniture. With a commitment to innovation and a mission to revive the British furniture industry, the brand is inspired by Great Britain's unique heritage.
