The Nur lamp is a series of luminaires in various sizes, colors and lighting options. The Nur ceiling lamp offers direct halogen or fluorescent lighting with subtle indirect lighting creating a halo on the ceiling. It features a deep dome shaped body/diffuser in spun aluminum, available in charcoal grey or natural anodized aluminum finish. Polycarbonate diffuser encased in body to diffuse lamps. Mounts to standard electrical junction boxes.
Gismondi has played a significant role in progressive design circles. An Italian designer and engineer, he previously studied aeronautical & aerospace studies in Milan. He co-founded Artemide with Sergio Mazza in 1959 and designed a variety of lights. He resided as the president of the progressive Memphis design group, vice president of ADI, involved with the Milan Triennale and connected with a number of ministerial commissions on design.

Ernesto Gismondi
Ernesto Gismondi co-founded the lighting manufacturing firm Artemide and designed a variety of lights himself, including the Tholos wall lamp and the Zen and Tebe floor lamps. The company is perhaps best known for the “Tizio” desk lamp designed by Richard Sapper.
