The Miconos series offers a unique diffused incandescent light. The series features a transparent hand-blown glass orb diffuser accented by a chrome plated steel handle. The lampholder assembly and stem are offered in chrome plated or satin gold steel. Mounting to standard electrical junction boxes. The Miconos series also includes floor, wall, ceiling and table versions.
Gismondi has played a significant role in progressive design circles. An Italian designer and engineer, he previously studied aeronautical & aerospace studies in Milan. He co-founded Artemide with Sergio Mazza in 1959 and designed a variety of lights. He resided as the president of the progressive Memphis design group, vice president of ADI, involved with the Milan Triennale and connected with a number of ministerial commissions on design.

Ernesto Gismondi
Ernesto Gismondi co-founded the lighting manufacturing firm Artemide and designed a variety of lights himself, including the Tholos wall lamp and the Zen and Tebe floor lamps. The company is perhaps best known for the “Tizio” desk lamp designed by Richard Sapper.
