With its simplicity and refinement, Bee Hive combines Japanese and Danish design tradition in a beautiful and timeless look, which can be used in almost any setting where light plays a central role. The design is experimenting with Le Klint's traditional double cross-pleating, which in this lampshade is placed in a horizontal and zigzag fashion around the minimalist, Ponti inspired wooden frame. A romantic kinship with traditional wooden-clad beehives boxes has given rise to the name.
HarritSorensen is a Danish industrial design firm founded in 1991 by partners Thomas Harrit and Nicolai Sørensen. With offices located just north of Copenhagen, HarritSorensen provides design services to a wide variety of clients all over the world in industries ranging from high-tech medical equipment, toys and furniture, to traffic solutions, farming and more. In 1993, HarritSorensen introduced their best-selling KNAX coat rack. Today, KNAX continues to be sold worldwide, and the brand has expanded to include an entire line of storage solution products. Bee Hive is a lamp that manages to exude luxury and minimalist elegance at the same time.
