Skagerak Pelagus Table
from Fritz Hansen
skagerak pelagus table
Design NOTE Design Studio, 2022
FSC™ certified teak, powder-coated aluminum
Skagerak by Fritz Hansen
Pelagus Table is created for sociability and comfort. The teak tabletop has rounded edges where it meets the powder-coated aluminum. Comfortably seats 6 to 8 people.
The Pelagus Table can be further enhanced with the addition of an extension plate. The extension plate can be used in ones or twos to convert the table from a 6 or 8 seater to a 10 or 12. Made of eight teak slats that match the table, it slots simply into the center of the aluminum frame, when the tabletop is slid open, enabling people to sit around the ends from all sides. Two extension plates can be stored on the frame underneath the tabletop when not in use.
NOTE Design Studio is a multi-disciplinary studio based in Stockholm with a holistic approach to product design, always imagining the furniture in its architectural and spatial context. Its team of architects, industrial and spatial designers love to collaborate with likeminded passionate people and companies worldwide, who dream as large as they do.
Teak is a heavy, hard and sturdy type of wood. The high content of natural oils makes it highly resistant, perfect for functional everyday items in your home such as household articles and furniture. Skagerak FSC™-certified Teak comes from Brazil, Panama, Costa Rica and Indonesia. As the wood is untreated the surface will patina and change color over time into a beautiful silvery grey. To maintain untreated wood, it is a good idea to use sandpaper (grit 120-150) once or twice a year.
