reflect table lamp

Design Verner Panton, 1980
Powder-coated steel, black fabric cord
Made in Denmark by VerPan ApS.

Reflect was conceived by Verner Panton in 1980. The light is cast from the base of the lamp and reflected by the tilted disc to create an ambient atmosphere without any glare.

As one of the most influential and remarkable designers of the era, Verner Panton (1926-1998) has created objects, spaces and art. He was a master of the fluid, futuristic style of 1960s design which introduced the Pop aesthetic to furniture and interiors. His original, space age designs have won numerous awards and been exhibited in museums and private collections around the world. His ideologies and design concepts are apparent and have had great influence on 21st century design.

Reflect table lamp is manufactured in steel, powder-coated red or grey. The Grey variant features a satin finished vertical rod while the red version has a red, powder-coated vertical rod. The down facing surface of the disc shade is powder-coated white for optimal light reflection. Please call the hive showroom with any questions: 1-866-663-4483.

Verner Panton

Verner Panton (1926 – 1998) of Denmark created innovative, futuristic designs in vibrant colors with a variety of materials, especially plastic. Though his style was very "1960s," he regained popularity at the end of the 20th century. As of 2004, his most of his well-known furniture models are still in production. Already an experienced artist, Panton studied architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Art in Copenhagen, graduating in 1951. During the first two years of his career, 1950–1952, he worked at the architectural practice of Arne Jacobsen, another Danish architect and furniture designer. Panton started his own design and architectural office and became well known for his innovative architectural proposals, including a collapsible house (1955), the Cardboard House and the Plastic House (1960). In the mid-1950's, Panton converted a Volkswagen bus into a mobile studio and travelled across Europe. He returned to Denmark in 1958 full of unconventional ideas, one of which evolved into the iconic Heart Cone Chair. In 1960 Panton was the designer of the very first single-form injection-molded plastic chair. The Stacking chair or S chair, became his most famous design and was mass-produced.
One of the true rebels and pioneers in the world of lighting and furniture design, Verner Panton is an icon. True to his vision, his creative language shocked surroundings when he started designing and continues to leave people amazed today. Adding a touch of Panton instantly transforms a room. For many years Verpan has produced his famous lamps, carefully merging quality and originality.
