With Melt, Tom Dixon's experiments in the technologically advanced field of vacuum metallization takes on a new twist. Melt is a series of distorted spherical pendants born from a collaboration with Swedish radical design collective Front. The light bouncing and reflecting around the uneven surfaces creates a dramatic melting hot blown glass effect and an ethereal luminosity on their surroundings. Melt is translucent when on and mirror finish when off. Its internal luminosity is visible in full daylight. Available in two sizes and various finish options.

ugh so so so disappointed. love the look from afar but the construction is super cheap feeling - just molded plastic and in some spots you can see evidence of the mold. also it doesn’t install easily and my electrician took forever to get a nice lush mount against the ceiling - i’m not sure i got all the parts. lastly, the instructions and spec sheet that comes with it specifies a 25w e12 bulb which is not correct and given i buy everything online, it was an ordeal trying to select the eighth bulb since nothing on the website or packaging indicates the right one (some said e10 - wrong! and another said e12 - also wrong!) there’s no way this fixture is worth even a fraction of what it cost.
