Design Philippe Starck, 2000
Thermal treated recycled aluminum
Made in USA by Emeco

The Hudson stool is a spectacular update backed by an iconic bloodline. Philippe Starck created and named it for Ian Schrager's Hudson Hotel in Manhattan. Included in the design collection of the Museum of Modern Art, the Hudson was selected by the Chicago Athanaeum as one of the top designs for 2000, winning the prestigious "Good Design Award". Three times stronger than steel and amazingly light weight, these chairs have a life expectancy of at least 150 years. Timeless. Chairs admired today - and indefinitely. Chairs that span generations and cultures.

The Hudson stool is offered with a hand brushed or hand polished finish. The brushed finish is suitable for outdoor use while the polished finish is only recommended for use indoors or in protected outdoor environments. Each stool includes soft plastic (TPU) glides.

Philippe Starck

Subversive, ethical, ecological, political, humorous… this is how I see my duty as a designer. Philippe Starck believes that creation, whatever form it takes, must improve the lives of as many people as possible.
Emeco holds tightly to a foundation of craftsmanship and utilitarian design. The guiding principle is sustainability, design plus craftsmanship.
