Marcel Wanders grew up in Boxtel, the Netherlands and graduated cum laude from the School of the Arts Arnhem in 1988. His fame started with the iconic Knotted Chair in 1996. He is now designing for the biggest European contemporary design manufacturers including Moooi of which he is also art director and co-owner. He works on architectural, interior design and consumer home appliances. His designs have been selected for the most important design collections and exhibitions around the world.
Oblique is offered in solid oak stained and lacquered in four different colors (with visible wood structure) or lacquered beech in four colors. Please note when positioning the Oblique, ensure that you leave sufficient distance from the wall in relation to the height. Moooi recommends allowing a distance from the wall to the feet that is 1/5th of the height of the Oblique.

Marcel Wanders
Marcel Wanders first drew international recognition for his Knotted Chair produced by the Dutch design brand Droog. The Knotted Chair has since been acquired by the permanent collection of the MoMA.
Moooi is named for the Dutch word for 'beautiful'. The third 'O' in the name stands for extra value in beauty. The Moooi design process is lead by Marcel Wanders in collaboration with other notable designers.
