impossible wood armchair 2 pack
from Moroso
impossible wood armchair 2 pack
Design Nipa Doshi & Jonathan Levien, 2012
Polypropylene, steel frame
Made in Italy by Moroso
A new design from the Anglo-Indian couple who are always very alive to aesthetic and conceptual research and innovation. Impossible Wood reinvents the idea of the classic outdoor chair by using a new, different material (a synthetic fiber) with very versatile characteristics. This material is an eco-compatible compound which can replace the usual plastics while maintaining its characteristics of pliability (injection molded) and strength. As for its look, Impossible Wood has a simple, sophisticated silhouette, a lithe structure which reveals the chair's prospective elegance. The fruit of the two designers' lengthy, in-depth visual, geometric and prospective studies.
Impossible wood is offered as an armchair or side chair. They feature a molded polypropylene seat, back & arms with a tubular steel 4-leg base. The shell & base can be specified in a variety of colors and finish options. Sold in sets of two chairs of the same color.
armchair: 25.5" w | 29.5" h | 20.75" d | seat: 17" h | 17.75" d

Agostino Moroso, with his wife, Diana, founded the Moroso company in 1952 with an artisanal approach to making sofas, armchairs and furnishing accessories. Their iconic designs have propelled them within the upholstered furniture market, with help from a long list of well known designers: Ron Arad, Patricia Urquiola, Ross Lovegrove, Konstantin Grcic, Alfredo Haberli, Toshiyuki Kita, Marcel Wanders and others. Each piece maintains a noticeable Moroso style while representing other cultures as well. Its international outlook has landed Moroso into the MoMA in New York, Le Palais de Tokyo, the Grand Palais in Paris.
