The new sofa designed by Patricia Urquiola fosters a return to industrial design's capacity for technical and aesthetic designing of products destined for the retail market. The collection's strength is its almost basic simplicity which imbues it with character and modernity yet, at the same time, its silhouette has the added attractively graceful touch of a gentle arch in the frame to ensure the right structural balance of solids and voids.

Born in Oviedo, Patricia Urquiola attended the Madrid Polytechnic and the Milan Polytechnic Universities where she graduated in 1989 with Achille Castiglioni as her supervisor of whom she was assistant at the Milan Polytechnic from 1990 to 1992. She has worked with many great talents and a plethora of companies worldwide. This brilliant Spanish architect is a phenomenon not to be lost sight of.

With large, soft cushions to make it exceptionally comfortable, Gentry sofa's discreet personality enables it to perfectly blend into any interior décor or setting. The steel frame is enveloped in molded polyurethane foam, the cushions are filled with goose feathers. Available in a choice of leather, woven fabric or chunky quilted knitted fabric upholstery. Tubular steel base is offered in a number of finish options. The Gentry sofa includes 2 matching back cushions and two matching throw pillows, all other cushions shown are optional (please call to order). Gentry is also offered in different seat depths & widths.

Patricia Urquiola

Born in Oviedo, Patricia Urquiola attended the Faculty of Architecture of the Technical University of Madrid, where she graduated in 1989 having completed a thesis with Achille Castiglioni. From 1990 to 1992, she was assistant lecturer on his courses. Between 1990 and 1996, she worked with Vico Magistretti for the new product development office of De Padova and signed the products: “Flower,” “Loom sofa,” “Chaise,” and “Chaise Longue.”
Agostino Moroso, with his wife, Diana, founded the Moroso company in 1952 with an artisanal approach to making sofas, armchairs and furnishing accessories. Their iconic designs have propelled them within the upholstered furniture market, with help from a long list of well known designers: Ron Arad, Patricia Urquiola, Ross Lovegrove, Konstantin Grcic, Alfredo Haberli, Toshiyuki Kita, Marcel Wanders and others. Each piece maintains a noticeable Moroso style while representing other cultures as well. Its international outlook has landed Moroso into the MoMA in New York, Le Palais de Tokyo, the Grand Palais in Paris.
