radii bench

Design Niels Bendtsen
Solid white oak or American walnut
Made in Italy by Bensen

The Radii benches are an addition to the Radii dining table collection, intended as bench seating to match the tables. Together they create the most essential and simple of dining settings, although they are equally appropriate for use in a hallway, waiting room, gallery, bedroom, or even as coffee tables.

The benches feature the same signature detail as the tables; a thin bevelled edge that cleverly flows through radius cuts to blend with the graceful legs. This sculptural detail gives visual lightness to the top while emphasizing the mass and durability of the bench. The beauty and substantial feel of the thick solid wood material further add to the sense of luxury the benche's simplicity impart.

The Radii benches are made from the same 1 1/2" thick solid Walnut material as the Radii tables and feature the same beautiful grain selection and color tones. The legs are cut directly from the ends of the top boards on all but the largest size of bench, so that the grain flows continuously over the seat and legs.

The benches come assembled and are available in solid White Oak or American Walnut in a variety of sizes.

Niels Bendtsen

Bendtsen gained valuable skills and a respect for hand-built traditions as an apprentice, and was intrigued by new technologies. Between 1963 and 1972, Bendtsen had his own retail store where he sold imported Scandinavian designs. He designed small items for the store, but it wasn't until he was in his early thirties that he truly began designing furniture.
The Bensen philosophy balances simplicity and honesty. Designer Niels Bendtsen trained as an apprentice with his father building Scandinavian furniture and gained skills & respect for hand built traditions.
