Aluminum, steel, glass light bulbs

An update on the famous 1960s creation by the Castiglioni brothers, Achille Castiglioni designed this piece for "community areas, lobbies and rooms that need a lot of light for special occasions," without sacrificing style and beauty.
Taraxacum 88 is composed from a single basic element, a polished aluminum equilateral triangle fitted with electrical sockets. A number of these are hinged together to form an icosahedron, the Platonic form closest to a sphere. The sockets are filled with 60 clear globe light bulbs (included), invoking the bloom of a dandelion.
Achille Castiglioni's imaginative forms and simplistic designs have made him one of the most influential figures in Italian design.
