"Design is one." -Massimo Vignelli
Lella and Massimo needed casual furniture for their new home near Sorrento. They designed a multi-purpose indoor/outdoor grouping of furniture ideal for home, hospitality and office environments. The very basic shape of the table, bench and stool/side table, gives to this design a timeless character that is quite appropriate to its destination.
Italian natives, Massimo & Lella Vignelli established the Vignelli Office of Design and Architecture in the city of Milan in 1960. Both have been recipients of numerous design awards with examples of their works included in permanent collection of several museums around the world. Today, their projects are associated around graphics and design through Vignelli Associates.
The Vignelli cube is offered in a variety of color options and now with an expanded Color Palette. Heller has introduced six new colors to the iconic Vignelli Collection: Slate, Turquoise, Celadon, Citron, Ochre, and Brown. These thoughtfully curated hues complement the original palette, allowing for creative combinations and multi-piece installations. The balance of muted and saturated tones enables these sculptural pieces to live in diverse environments while maintaining visual cohesion with existing Vignelli pieces.
All new colors are now made from recycled content and feature Heller's Worry Free Plastics technology, with 100% regenerative material that transforms completely at the end of its lifecycle, leaving no environmental trace.

Beautiful in its simplicity
I purchased the light gray cube to create a seat and low surface area in the corner of an interior utility area. Its color and form blends into the light surround while adding dimension with its geometric design. It also looks at home in more formal spaces, like a living room, and creates a substantial contemporary presence. That said, buyers should note that it truly is designed as seat. For example, it would not function so well as a side table because its top surface is slightly lower at the its center (it is not a level surface) and it has some intentional "give" when one sits on it to make it more comfortable. Lastly, however elegant its design, one needs to be able to appreciate its specific industrial polymer materials, surface, and aesthetic. It could present as a block of plastic to some people. However, it is exactly what I was seeking.
Great product! Purchased 3 of these in yellow recently and in the past purchased the full line of tables and cubes in white for another space. Getting ready to purchase more of the yellow. Will not disappoint!
