wohlert pendant lamp
from Louis Poulsen
wohlert pendant lamp
Design Vilhelm Wohlert
White opal glass
Made in Denmark by Louis Poulsen
Vilhelm Wohlert and the present CEO of Louis Poulsen Jens Kaastrup-Olsen had a fruitful collaboration in which Mr. Kaastrup-Olsen asked Mr. Wohlert to design a pendant in three different sizes accordingly suited for different room sizes. Furthermore Wohlert was presented with the demand for easy maintenance and change of light source. Today this fixture hangs in many different buildings around the world including the AHTS Headquarters in Copenhagen and the University of Copenhagen, where it is beautifully incorporated into the classical buildings.
As a pupil of Kaare Klint at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, Vilhelm Wohlert was later appointed professor of Architecture from 1968-1986. He is best known for a large number of architectural commissions and restoration projects as well as the designing of a lamp for Le Klint as part of the interior design for Niel Bohr's honorary residence in Copenhagen. He has received numerous awards and international honors for his work.
Available in three different sizes for different room sizes. The Wohlert pendant offers easy maintenance, provides direct lighting through the opening at the bottom and ensures an evenly lit, uniform illumination through the quality of glass.
