The Press Room Chair was designed by Gerrit Rietveld for the press room of UNESCO's headquarters in Paris. Rietveld's signature style is immediately evident in the clean lines and the geometric balance between backrest and seat. The double-stitched seams emphasize the clear design language and give the chair its distinctive character. With its straight armrests and defined geometric forms, the chair subtly echoes Rietveld's iconic Red and Blue Chair.
Although Rietveld believed that a chair should primarily function as an architectural object within a space, the Press Room Chair offers an unexpected level of comfort, making it an inviting place to pause and relax. Features a full 360 degree swivel.
