"Sitting on Wink means sitting on the floor and, when you are seated there, according to tradition, your spirit rises,"
- Toshiyuki Kita
Post-Modern Icon, ergonomically correct, and exquisitely versatile. Wink features a wide range of articulating elements including the ability to individually position each "ear" either up or down. It also cleverly unfolds into a chaise-longue with the built-in footrest.
Wink was selected by the Triennale Design Museum in Milan as a representative work of 1980 for the emergence of a functional movable chair, and is still in production 40 years after its presentation at the Salone del Mobile in 1980. Included in the permanent collections of Museum of Modern Art, New York, the USA (1981), Philadelphia Museum of Art, the USA (1994), Vitra Design Museum, Germany, Indianapolis Museum of Art, the USA (2013), Domaine de Boisbuchet, France, Triennale di Milano (2002), and the Miffy Museum.
Its proportions of-the-moment, Wink has a multi-functional mission with a pop look, and can be personalized in either leather, or in an ample array of fabrics and colors. The back, and headrest can be adjusted by means of the handles on the side, these being available in a range of shades to match the front and back legs.
Overcovers are individually available in Popeline fabric or as a complete set in a special quilted fabric. Overcovers are removable and can be ordered separately. Please note, the images show the Wink Lounge in split-upholstery (two colors and/or fabrics). The classic Wink Lounge is currently only available in a single fabric/color while the Otterlo Version can be specified in two different colors.
