Border Side Table

border side table
Design Erin Hou, 2023
Solid oak or walnut
Made in USA by Bernhardt Design
Inspired by skating, the Border table defines quiet power in its unique combination of beauty, elegance, and balance of core structure. Border expresses a movable lightness, physically delicate in weight, and visually slim and graceful.
Erin (Yiting) Hou was born in Shenzhen, China, where tradition gradually blends with Modernity. Throughout her childhood, she had the opportunity to visit many traditional gardens in Suzhou, China. The gardens have well-designed architecture for practicality, the proper balance between light and shade, and the excellent integration of dynamic and static elements. What she has seen taught Erin that an excellent piece of design should have perfect functionality and be able to meet people's aesthetic senses and spiritual needs to the furthest extent.
Ten years of Chinese painting experience during her childhood and theoretical studies at the ArtCenter College of Design allowed her to gradually develop her modern systemic design philosophy. Erin explains that her style involves "hiding the power of dynamics in the simplicity of the static structure to show the integration between vitality and stillness, fulfilling both aesthetic mentality and practical usage."
An oval shaped wood table, Border is made of solid American walnut or oak in various natural and select finishes.
