Chiara, by Parisian designer Noe Duchaufour-Lawrance, is a response to a world that can't stop talking. "Our personal and professional worlds have blurred together. Technology and media are ubiquitous. Chiara lounge chair is a refuge from our overstimulated world," says Duchaufour-Lawrance. For the seat, Duchaufour-Lawrance drew from the shapes of flower petals and leaves. As a result, the chair cradles without enveloping you. Chiara is at once supportive, but not restrictive. As a modern lounge piece, Chiara's generous open seat swivels and allows you to use the chair in different ways. Chiara is meant to adjust to your needs, rather than dictate how it is to be used. In a world screaming for our attention, Chiara stands out with its invitation to rest, listen and reflect.
Born in South France, Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance is a designer of objects and interior environments. Following in the footsteps of his father, a sculptor, his artistic interests developed at an early age. Growing up in this creative atmosphere, he had the opportunity to define his own language: using natural shapes with smooth and organic lines which remain fluid and structured at the same time. After earning a degree in Metal Sculpture from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Appliqués et des Métiers d'Art, he studied furniture design at the renowned Les Arts Décoratifs.
Chiara is offered with two base options: a sculptured cast-aluminum base with a self-returning swivel or a tailored wooden cross stretcher base. This version with a swivel base is available in polished aluminum or a powder-coated finish.
