"Design is one." -Massimo Vignelli
Stackable, colorful, and fun. When you look at this sleek stacking dinnerware you can't help but smile. Loved worldwide, the Max Collection was designed by Lella and Massimo Vignelli, who The New York Times described as "a two-person design army with a shared aesthetic that was sleek and intelligent."
When Heller's founder Alan Heller saw the Vignelli's compact stacking dishware in a museum in the late 1960s and learned that the original manufacturer had closed its business, he sought out Lella and Massimo to bring it back into production. Commonly referred to as Hellerware, this dinnerware was the first product in the Heller assortment, and it began a long and very special partnership between Heller and the Vignellis.
The cutting edge design was quickly recognized as a classic in the canon of modern design and added to the Museum of Modern Art's permanent collection. This honor was quickly followed by being awarded Italy's most prestigious design award the Compasso d'Oro.
This 24 piece set includes 6 settings of plates, bowls, and mugs. Choice between a single color or a rainbow mixture (one of each color). Dishwasher safe, top rack only. Massimo Vignelli
If you can design one thing, you can design everything, said Massimo Vignelli. Vignelli went to New York in 1966 to start the New York branch of a new company, Unimark International which became one of the largest design firms in the world.
Heller has created a simple paradigm: good design, industrial production and reasonable prices. Heller's stacking dinnerware won a Compasso d’Oro award and is included in the MoMA design collection.
