Skagerak Vester Chair
from Fritz Hansen
skagerak vester chair
Design Chris Liljenberg Halstrøm, 2019
Solid oiled oak
Skagerak by Fritz Hansen
A transverse brass rod that indicates where you pull out the chair. Legs that continue up into the backrest and becomes a small hook, where you can hang your purse. A body in golden oiled oak that naturally contrasts the details in brass. A dining chair designed in a well-proportioned idiom, making it a comfortable seat. Vester Chair is elegant in a discreet way and understated without losing its momentum. Vester Chair is developed and produced by Skagerak for the seaside hotel, Svinkløv Badehotel.
With a Swedish mother and Danish father Chris Liljenberg Halstrøm shows her Nordic roots in her designs through a minimalistic approach and strong combinations of materials like wood, leather and wool. Function is her starting point and dictates the idiom of her beautiful designs. Chris is a curious and investigative woman. And it is in the investigation that she finds her biggest inspiration, an investigation of all possible angles of a design that draws her and broadens her perspective on the design process. Besides this, she is deeply fascinated by traditional Japanese architecture and design which focuses on the core function of the design.
The Vester Dining Chair uses FSC™-certified oak with an oiled finish. Oak is a sturdy and hardwearing antibacterial wood type. Its light, elegant color and well-defined grains makes oak a safe choice for high-quality interior. Skagerak oak comes from European forests and is selected carefully by hand to ensure the best and most durable quality in production. Oak is a natural material with each piece having its own unique grain and patterns.
