"I want to create products that people care about. Something they don't see as a utility object but as something that has value and isn't just discarded after use. Products they want to preserve for a long-term relationship." - Anton Björsing
Light and Nordic, robust and elegant, Hven is named after the Swedish island in Øresund, the strait between Denmark and Sweden. An embracing and comfortable armchair designed to support happy moments around the dining table. Hven Armchair carries a light expression highlighted by few subtle details such as the overlapping poles, round corners and curved shape.
Anton Björsing is a trained cabinet maker with the inherent will and properties of wood as his key professional focus. The long-term perspective is a vital factor for the Swedish designer, who sees his curiosity, his knowledge of materials and his ability to take on a given challenge as the key elements in his practice.
The Hven Collection is 100% FSC™-oak. Oak is a sturdy and hardwearing antibacterial wood type. Its light, elegant color and well-defined grains makes oak a safe choice for high-quality interior. Skagerak oak comes from European forests and is selected carefully by hand to ensure the best and most durable quality in production. Oak is a natural material. It comes untreated, which means that it will react to grease, colorants, changes in air humidity, moisture and water. Optional treatment finishes make it more resistant, but be aware that the wood will change color when applying soap or oil.
