Twenty-Five Dining Armchair with Manta Gil upholstery
from De La Espada
twenty-five dining armchair with manta gil upholstery
Design De La Espada, 2022
Solid ash, oak, or walnut, Manta Gil fabric
Made in Portugal by De La Espada
This special edition Twenty-Five Armchair is upholstered in a Manta Alentejana, a traditional blanket from the Alentejo region of Portugal with a heritage reaching back over a century. The pattern and colors of the textile were custom-designed and traditionally woven by artisan blanket-weavers. The alignment of the pattern across the chair was selected to achieve the most aesthetically pleasing composition.
Twenty-Five is a solid wood dining chair that nods to barrel making; its curved backrest is made from ten components carved and joined. Shortened armrests allow for relaxed comfort and more flexible sitting positions within the chair. The design reflects Scandinavian and Portuguese influences realized in premium solid wood and luxurious custom upholstery.
Crafted at the solar-powered De La Espada factory in Portugal. Designed by De La Espada Atelier and rigorously engineered with the support of the De La Espada product development team and expert craftspeople. Durability, comfort and aesthetics combine for a product that lasts a lifetime. Timber is sustainable solid wood from North America or Europe, offering long-term repairability of the surface. Natural color and grain variations in every plank make each piece an individual. Traditional wood joinery bonded with wood glue ensures structural integrity. All finishes are non-toxic and applied by hand, sprayed or rubbed. Textile supplied by a renowned factory dedicated to the production of Mantas Alentejanas in Portugal.
The Twenty-Five Dining Armchair is also available in a wide range of De La Espada's selected fabrics and leathers.
