airy half size coffee table
by Cecilie Manz, from Muuto
airy half size coffee table
Design Cecilie Manz, 2014
Plywood, nanolaminate, powder-coated steel
Made by Muuto
"The idea behind Airy was to create a side table that did not scream but still was not afraid to speak. The result is a table series that masters the fine balance between being light and airy, and at the same time having plenty of personality and individuality. Due to this combination Airy gets a multi-functionality that makes the side tables suitable for every kind of interior." -Cecilie Manz
The thin welded frame of the Airy Table series creates a geometric and sophisticated silhouette that is further refined by a light, slim tabletop. There are four table sizes in the series, all suitable for a range of functions, from side table to coffee table. The Airy Table series has a playful yet quiet personality, making it an easy addition to any space.
In 1997, Cecilie Manz graduated from Copenhagen-based Danmarks Designskole, with additional studies at the University of Art and Design in Helsinki. A year after graduation, Cecilie Manz founded her own design studio, where she has established herself as one of Denmark's most prominent designers. Her work within furniture, glass, lighting, and ceramics has achieved international success and is sold and exhibited all over the world.
The Airy table collection is made from plywood with a nanolaminate finish. The frame is made from 8mm. powder-coated solid steel.

Muuto is rooted in the Scandinavian design tradition characterized by enduring aesthetics, functionality, craftsmanship and an honest expression. By expanding this heritage with forward-looking materials, techniques and bold creative thinking, our ambition is to deliver new perspectives on Scandinavian design. In fact our name, Muuto, comes from muutos, meaning new perspective in Finnish.
