florence knoll relaxed settee
Design Florence Knoll, 1954
Steel frame, polyester fiberfill, upholstery
Made in USA by Knoll
In celebration of 100 years of Florence Knoll and to honor her legacy, Knoll has launched a new set of designs inspired by archival products. Florence Knoll's classic lounge chair is now available in a soft version, with deeper proportions for a more relaxed sit. Consistent with all of Knoll's designs, it has a spare, angular profile that reflects the objective perfectionism of modern design in the early 1960s. Her lounge collection, designed in 1954, is a perfect example of her restrained, geometric approach to furniture, clearly derived from her favorite mentor, Mies van der Rohe.
The Florence Knoll Relaxed Lounge Collection is comprised of a Lounge Chair, Settee and Sofa. The Sofa and Settee will feature increased seat depths while the Lounge Chair dimensions will remain the same as the standard version. The Collection features an exposed metal frame and legs in heavy gauge steel with a polished chrome finish. The inner frame is solid wood with seat suspension with springs and arm, seat and back cushions in multi-density foam. The seat and back covering is tufted and covered with polyester fiberfill to enhance comfort. Please note: pieces upholstered in leather have matching buttons while pieces upholstered in fabric do not have buttons. KnollStudio logo and Florence Knoll's signature are stamped into the base frame.
settee: 63" w | 35" d | 31.25" h | seat: 18.25" h | arm: 23.5" h | 125 lbs.
