food a porter lunch box

Design Sakura Adachi, 2018
Thermoplastic resin
Made by Alessi

Food a porter is a lunch box that doesn't look like a lunch box, rather a refined fashion accessory. A functional and beautiful object, to be worn as a stylish bag.

Far from the anonymous design of traditional food containers, Food a porter combines functionality with a decidedly aesthetic value, in a formal tribute to the bento boxes and the Japanese lacquerware. A spacious lunch box, compact and versatile, divided into three containers with a choice of two lids, depending on your choice of lunch. For enjoying lunch wherever you desire, at work or out in the open air. Ideal for those who want to enjoy food prepared at home, or those who follow a specific diet.

7.5" L | 4" w | 5.25" h | 1qt. 10.75 oz.

Alessi was founded in 1921 by Giovanni Alessi to produce crafted metal products for eating and drinking. In 1935, Carlo Alessi, son of Giovanni, was named chief designer. In 1945, he ascended to chief executive and designed the coffee service Bombe, an industrial piece manufactured in four sizes. That same year Carlo's younger brother, Ettore Alessi, joined the company as a technician. By the 1980s, Alberto Alessi took over the management of Alessi and launched the Alessi company into the design decade through collaborations with designers such as Philippe Starck and his playful three-legged Juicy Salif citrus squeezer.
