The poetry of a table. This collection of tables is a tribute to beauty, expressed through an aesthetic of apparent simplicity. Light, sinuous lines celebrate conviviality in a table that draws from nature its inspiration for balance. Ronan Bouroullec, with his poetic universe of shapes and influences, designs a piece of furniture that acquires its sculptural energy from the pairing of materials and tone-on-tone colors.

Treflo marks Ronan Bouroullec's first solo project for Cassina. The collection takes its name and its geometry from the trefoil, the three-lobed form of a clover leaf. Bouroullec has translated that form into a base of draped contours that converge toward its top creating a sense of lightness and suspension that belies its solidity. Made of rigid polyurethane with a percentage of polyols derived from biological origin, available with a glossy finish. Used for the first time by Cassina for Treflo, this material is part of the company's broader research aimed at identifying innovative materials suitable for adopting a more sustainable approach.

The glass top is where Treflo reveals its full artisanal complexity, it features a vibrant surface texture, similar to ripples on water, echoing the beauty of nature. Each top is crafted from extra-clear glass and subjected to a thermal forming process: laid onto a mold with a specific surface texture, the glass is heated at high temperatures until it softens and takes on a gently rippled, wave-like conformation. The result is a surface that modulates light rather than simply reflecting it, shifting in appearance depending on where you stand and how the light falls across it. The perimeter of each top is deliberately irregular, an organic line conceived with meticulous attention that gives every piece an immediate sense of handcraft and uniqueness. The edge itself is finished in a soft, rounded profile (also known as a soap bar edge) smooth to the touch and refined to the eye. It is a top that rewards looking at as much as sitting around.

The tables are available in this version with a glass top and a glossy lacquered base (tone-on-tone base and top). The collection is proposed with two different-shaped bases; one three-lobed for the round tabletops, the other in an infinity shape for the oval tables, and a large round one with three legs. For greater conviviality, Treflo is also available in a 116" oval version (with glass top only) that accommodates up to 12 people.
