The CH24 chair or "Wishbone Chair" as it is often called due to the shape of the back, is a light chair and even being an armchair, a relatively small piece of furniture. The curved hind legs and the semicircular top rail together with the elegant Y-back endows the chair with a gracious and welcoming air.
The CH24 sits well, is spacious and allows its user to change position. The back offers good support and most people feel comfortable in it for a longer period of time. The curved top rail makes it easy to move around and though the arm rests are long enough to give adequate support to your forearms, the chair can still be pushed in close to a table. Today the Y-chair has developed into Wegner's and Carl Hansen's most popular chair by far. CH24 is available in a variety of wood and finish options and also offered with an optional leather seat cushion.

we received 6 chairs the desk with a tambor front and the table for wedding presents in 1953, and 2 additional ones when our family went to Copenhagen 14 years later, they have served us well in 6 homes the last one, an award winning Bauhaus!!!!! two of them were repaired in California and all 8 had black pads purchased from design in. The are perfect for a 93 year old to pull himself up! I have just ordered two more to use as office chairs!
This is an iconic, classic Hans Wegener piece. It doesn't need a review; for me it's perfect. I am writing this only because of the great job HIVE did with regard to the purchase and shipping.
No other dining chair has such a complex form, yet seemingly simple presence. The only area of consideration for use is the relatively high arching armrests. The simple, and deep, barrel form may make it impossible to push in the chair fully, so adequate space around your table is a must if clearance under the table is not sufficient.

Very good quality, however a joint became loose in one of the two chairs in my original order, over a year ago. I reinforced it myself with a wood glue.
the ch24 wishbone chair chair is still hand made in denmark just as it always has been. it is uncanny that if you take a recent production and a vintage example from 50 years ago and put them side by side, the fit and finish and everything about it is pretty much exactly the same.... thats a very good thing. in terms of quality, craftmanship and heritage, the ch24 is as good as it gets.
