bretton queen bed 396aq

Bretton Bed is named after the town in West Yorkshire, England, a county that inspires Matthew Hilton, with it's rugged landscape and history of producing modernist sculptors. The bed features meticulous detailing including a headboard that tapers toward the bed base, mitre joints in the corners of the platform, and a beautiful combination of materials.

Matthew Hilton graduated with a degree in Furniture Design from Kingston Polytechnic in 1979. He went on to design products for a variety of well known manufacturers. In 1985 Matthew set up the Matthew Hilton Design Studio. He has also been given the highest honor in the field of Industrial Design in the United Kingdom, by being named a Royal Designer for Industry in 2003. In September 2007, Matthew established his own brand, Matthew Hilton Limited as a place he could have complete creative control. In 2008, he was named Designer of the Year by Elle Decoration at the British Design Awards.

Available in American black walnut, American white oak, or European Ash in a range of finishes, and a range of fabric and leather options. Legs in taupe or black anodized aluminum. The platform base is black stained MDF with holes for air circulation. Please note: The Bretton legs are made from gravity die-cast aluminum and contain small defects that are inherent to the artisanal manufacturing process. These tend to be imperceptible once installed, and do not affect the overall appearance of the product. NOTE 2: When using leather to upholster the expansive surface of the headboard, the De le Espada craftspeople will use their discretion to ensure the natural variations in the hide's color and grain are most elegantly displayed. This may mean adding stitch lines to the headboard. Mattress & bedding not included. Assembly required.
