claw table square

Named for the metal cross brace that grasps the table's legs, the Claw Table offers an elegant solution wherever an occasional surface is called for. Available as a four-legged square or three-legged circle in a choice of sizes, this classic design sits comfortably at the center of a furniture arrangement or quietly along the sidelines. The spare elegance of the design allows the table to work in a variety of interiors and ensures aesthetic longevity.

Ward Bennett's story is a remarkable one. His career began at age 13, when he quit school to work in the garment district in New York City. At 15, he designed his first clothing collection; at 16 he left for Europe, where he continued working on fashions. Simplicity and comfort were always his goals. Bennett designed more than 150 chairs, many of which have become classics. He is considered the first American to use industrial materials for home furnishings, well before the high-tech look of the 1970s became popular. He was hailed by the American Institute of Architects for "transforming industrial hardware into sublime objects." Many of Bennett's designs are in the Museum of Modern Art's permanent collection as well as in the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum; he is also in Interior Design magazine's Hall of Fame.

The claw tables feature .75" thick clear glass top with a metal base offered in various finish options. The metallic bronze & metallic silver finish options have a clear powder coat finish.
